Painting Retreat in Sicily

The historic estate, “Salinara” is located in Marsala close to the Mediterranean Sea, one of the largest Marin Natural Preserves in Europe. Full of extraordinary charm and natural beauty, it is a perfect holiday hideaway with a beautiful sea view where both body and soul can regenerate and receive a positive energy. The setting of Salinara, with its rustic beauty, farm fresh meals, and interesting excursions provides the perfect environment for our “Spirit, Mind, Body” experience.
Your artistic SPIRIT will be recognized, encouraged, and celebrated as you work with other creative participants.
Your MIND will be engaged by discussions of Art within the group, and your problem solving skills will be challenged as you are improving your painting ability.
Your BODY will be nourished with fresh food, walks, biking, and yoga sessions. The emphasis on this workshop is to help promote skill-building with your painting, regardless of your level. There will be two experienced artists, Qiang Huang, and Suzanne Enriquez Dougherty, providing plenty of individual attention to each participant in this small group. We will provide demos to clarify processes, and will offer critiques as requested. Easels will be provided, so only bring your painting supplies (list will be sent out before traveling). As an added bonus, a professional yoga instructor,Song Huang, will offer optional sessions . Yoga mats are available as are some bicycles. There will be some nearby excursions during the week to allow us to further experience this locale.

A sample day from this retreat will incorporate some painting time, some exploration, and some bodywork: We will also set up a WhatsApp group page to discuss materials, topics, travel tips, etc. More details will be provided as we get closer to the date.
This retreat includes:

Pick-up at Palermo airport on the first day at 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm

Prices:
Single (1 per room): $2300/person.
Double(2 per room): $2000/person.
Non-artist Guest (2 per room) : $1900/person.

Registration and Payment
Register with a deposit of $200 plus 3% service charge to hold a spot. Please click the blue "Registration" button to start the process. 50% of total payment will be due on March 1, 2024. The other 50% payment will be due on September 1, 2024.
Refund Policy
If you have to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible. Before March 1, 2024, Your deposit can be refunded (less $50 booking fee). Before September 1, 2024, 50% of total amount (less deposit) can be refunded only if you have paid in full. No refund can be offered if you paid 50% of the total payment. After September 1, 2024, no refund can be offered. If you can find a substitute for your spot, we will refund your payment, minus the $200 deposit. We will also help you find another participant if you are unable to.
Travel Insurance
In order to best protect yourself and your travels, we require proof of travel insurance to participate at this retreat. There are several companies that offer affordable and comprehensive coverage for a variety of issues. We recommend www.traveldefenders.com and www.allianztravelinsurance.com. Proof of travel insurance will be due along with the final payment in September.
